Winsford Decides 2026

Winsford Town Council is delighted to launch Winsford Decides, an inspiring initiative that gives residents a direct role in deciding how local funding is invested within the community.

Putting Residents First

Winsford Decides 2026 is built around the principle of Participatory Budgeting (PB), a democratic approach that empowers local people to influence decisions that matter to them. By taking part, residents help shape the future of Winsford and ensure funding supports the projects that make the greatest local impact.

How the Process Works

Winsford Town Council has allocated £25,000 to support community-led projects. Community groups can apply for grants of up to £5,000.

Projects that meet the application criteria will be presented to residents on 25 March 2026 at The Winsford Academy, starting at 7:00 pm.

Those attending will have the opportunity to vote for the projects they feel should receive funding, with successful projects announced on the same evening.

The closing date for applications is 16 March 2026 at 5:00 pm.

All applications must meet the below criteria before they can go ahead for the voting event.

Application Criteria:

• Total amount requested must be £5,000 or under.
• A detailed breakdown of how the money will be spent must be provided.
• Project outcomes must directly benefit Winsford residents.
• A clear plan outlining how the project/idea will be executed, with evidence of partnership agreements if applicable.
• Confirmation of venue bookings or planning permission, if required.
• Appropriate safeguarding measures in place, if applicable.
• Match funding secured, if required.
