Good Friday Balls

Winsford’s Good Friday Balls is a long-standing tradition dating back to the early days of the salt mine, when miners would take home small balls of salt as a simple gift for their children. Over the years, the custom evolved into an important community celebration that continues to bring families together across Winsford each Easter.

Although the community has grown and changed over the years, the tradition remains a meaningful reminder of our shared heritage. As custodians of the Winsford Rock Salt Mine, Compass Minerals is proud to help keep this unique piece of local history alive for future generations.

This event is generously sponsored by Compass Minerals, continuing the company’s long-standing support for the Winsford community and its historic traditions.
