Super Spinathon for St Luke’s ![]()
Carol Roberts, a trainer/coach at BTB gym, is preparing to host an eight-hour ‘spinathon’ to raise money for the Hospice on Sunday 28th January.
The Hospice has come to play an essential part in her life in recent years after her dad, Robert Spencer, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Carol was finding it tough and desperately needed more support. Last year she was able to access the incredible St Luke’s dementia carers workshops, where she found the much-needed support and care that made a world of difference.
Carole (pictured front row centre) said, “It got to January last year and I was at the end of my tether. I found they did this dementia workshop at St Luke’s. We went along and they were just remarkable. I can’t put into words how amazing they were. If it weren’t for St Luke’s I think I’d have lost the plot.”
During these workshops, she met Karen (pictured front row), who was also attending with her family. Together, they forged a great friendship, and united by their shared admiration and gratitude for the invaluable dementia carers workshop, they decided to organise a spinathon fundraiser for the service.
Now, Carol and her spinathon team of 24 other supporters, aim to raise thousands of pounds to ensure St Luke’s can continue providing this vital support to other local families.
They are also joined by fellow cyclist Winsford Town Mayor Ernie Welch for this incredible fundraiser.
Following the spinathon, a celebration at 7pm will be held at the Old Star and all are invited. There will be raffle prizes, live music from Adriana Vocals, and magic by Christopher Hickey. ![]()
