Winsford Town Council

Pop-up Art Exhibition

On Thursday 15th October Winsford Town Council is staging a pop-up art exhibition on the town centre as part of an international festival. The invitation to get involved came from Winsford’s French twin town; Deuil-la-barre, where such events, known as La Grande Lessive, have been held every 6 months for many years.

The concept is very simple, artwork created by the local community is hung on a clothesline using clothes pegs to create a promenade of art for residents to enjoy throughout the day. The theme of the exhibition is “Inventing our history”.

Artwork will reflect our personal experiences and perspective of the last 6 months of lockdown and represent this unique moment in history and can take any form; drawings, paintings, photographs, collages etc. the only rule is that submissions must be on A4 sized paper.

Submissions can be dropped off at any of the designated collection points around the town by the end of Tuesday the 13th October which are The Gate Inn in Over (after 4pm), the Red Lion in Wharton (after midday) and the town centre management suite (opposite Wetherspoons).
