WINSFORD TOWN COUNCIL LAUNCHES PROMPT ACTION FUND
Date: 27th April 2020
WINSFORD Town Council has launched a COVID-19 Prompt Action Fund to help its residents through the current COVID-19 crisis.
The Fund allows both people and organisations to apply for funding to deal with hardships created by the current lockdown.
Guidance on how to apply and also who can apply can be obtained from the Town Council via email@example.com. When emailing the Council for this purpose, please put SUPPORT in the email subject heading.
The Town Council has also asked the community of Winsford for ideas on where any funding should be focused. Any ideas can be communicated either via the above email address of via the Town Council’s website at winsford.gov.uk/winsford-town-council-covid-19-prompt-action-fund/.
The Fund is being offered in conjunction with Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Community Fund, which offers grants for organisations. The Town Council Fund also provides grants for individuals who are dealing with difficult financial issues at the current time.
Winsford Town Mayor Cllr Ailsa Gaskill-Jones commented that “this is an unprecedented situation for so many of us, and the measures put in place to contain the spread of the virus have left people in financial and other difficulties”.
“The Town Council’s Prompt Action Fund is there for people to apply for small amounts of funding in order to allow them to deal with some of the day to day issues caused by this pandemic”.
The Mayor went on to say, “all Town Councillors are working together, in conjunction with Cheshire West and Chester Council to try – as far as we can – to lessen the impact of the current crisis on our community and to make life a bit more bearable for those who are suffering”.
The Fund offers grants of up to £250 for individuals and £500 for organisations. Any individuals who apply for funding will need the support of an accredited organisation (usually Cheshire West and Chester Council or any accountable constituted organisation) in order to access funding.
Any individual wishing to apply for WTC funding will need to make contact with at least one of these organisations setting out their situation and the assistance they require.
Each application will be considered by the Town Council before any decision is taken on whether to award funding to the applicant.
