TENDERS FOR THE ERECTION, MAINTENANCE AND DISMANTLING OF CHRISTMAS LIGHTS 2020
Winsford Town Council invites tenders for the purchase (where necessary), erection, maintenance and dismantling of the Christmas lights which the Town Council provides on Winsford High Street, part of Dene Drive, and from the River Weaver Gyratory to the roundabout adjacent to the Top House Public House.
In the High Street, lights are to be fitted on approximately 80 lamp columns. Blachere ‘Boreal’ motifs are to be fitted to approximately 20 columns between Dene Drive and Dingle Lane. Existing ‘traditional’ units will be fitted to the remaining 54 lamp columns.
In Dene Drive, LED motifs will be fitted to approximately 10 columns. From the River gyratory to the roundabout adjacent to the Top House pub, LED motifs will be fitted to around 15 lamp columns. Lamp column fastening kits are already in situ.
In all cases, the Council asks for any interested party to quote for examination, testing and (if necessary) replacement of any of these lights for use in 2020.
In any tender, please include price for a pre-switch on exercise prior to the official switch on and also please include details on undertaking electrical intelligence to set up a switch-on system.
In addition to the above, a 9m Christmas tree is to be installed at the junction of the High Street and the Old High Street in Winsford (provision of tree and installation not included in the scope of this tender). Please quote as part of this tender for LED strings to be installed on the tree and connection to an adjacent column.
All fittings are in storage at the Wharton Recreation Ground, East Dudley Street, Winsford and may be inspected on request. Please quote for PAT testing as part of the tender as well as assessment of lights and which, if any, may need to be replaced.
The time and date proposed for the switch-on is 5pm on Friday 27th November 2020 including the Christmas tree, which will be switched on at 5.15pm on this date. All lights should then be re-set to illuminate at 3pm thereafter. All lights should be extinguished at 11pm from 28th November 2020 to 6th January 20201 (inclusive). All dates are subject to change due to the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Any tender is expected to take note of the guidance around the pandemic.
The closing date for the receipt of tenders is 12 noon on Wednesday 5th August 2020. Tenders should be placed in a sealed envelope marked ‘Tender for Christmas lights’, and addressed to:-
