Winsford Town Council is pleased to confirm events to mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June.
This year, Her Majesty the Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service. The Platinum Jubilee Central Weekend to celebrate Her Majesty’s historic reign takes place from 2nd to 5th June. Winsford Town Council is organising the following events in Winsford to help residents mark the occasion:
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration

Winsford’s beacon will be lit at 9.45pm, as part of the ‘Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacons’ The beacon is one of thousands being lit in the UK and the Commonwealth, and forms part of the official programme announced by Buckingham Palace for the Jubilee Weekend.

Winsford Town Council’s Jubilee Grant Scheme
This is designed specifically to assist groups of residents to organise their own local neighbourhood community events to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Photographs of Celebrations
We are asking residents to share photographs of any coronation celebrations in the town or previous Jubilees.
We’d be grateful if you could speak with family/friends and neighbours to ask them if they have any photographs that we could display in Winsford Library.

Platinum Jubilee Plaques
Winsford Town Council along with the Winsford History Society have identified seven historic buildings in Winsford – one for every decade of the Queen’s reign. These will be fitted with a Platinum Jubilee with a commemorative plaque,
